I may have mentioned before that I love Mark Kermode. Believe me when I say that your life will be seriously enriched if you subscribe to his weekly film review podcast. I don’t usually agree with him on horrors or on rom-coms but I respect his opinion on film more than any other person in the world and the podcast is seriously entertaining and funny and ace.
A couple of weeks back I fell in love with him a little bit more when he told the tale of his stag night in the context of reviewing ‘The Hangover’. He went to watch the 70mm print of the Exorcist in the cinema on his own and then went home for an early night. What a dude. He says “I don’t like parties and I don’t like people and I don’t like hangovers.” He is brilliant.
